Question, and this may be REALLY dumb... but if my power goes out... if I stick the eggs in my bra to keep them warm until the power comes back on, will the eggs live? I can't think of any other way to keep them at body temp + if our power goes out.

We just got flash flood warnings, which means there's a good chance our power may, or may not zonk out for a few hours.

My cats unplugged my incubator for a day and my hatch went on okay.... 9/10..ducklings .....it's less a problem if they cool down then if they get to hot

You wouldn't be the 1st one to do that successfully, but you may be more comfortable, depending on the number of eggs involved, using a DC/AC power converter in the car, or a blanket over the 'bator w/o covering the vents

A few hours won't hurt too much. Wrap incubator in blankets. As to the bra I think under your arm would be better coverage. :gig

Was wondering about the flash flood situation when you said it was raining so hard.

a small motorcycle battery with a inverter for a car would work also

I only have 2 silkie eggs that survived past 10days... we are due for lock down in a week, and I'd hate to lose the two that made it this far.

the bathroom is warmer then the rest of the house, close to the incubator temp, naturally... so they may be okay, even if it cools off a little bit.

This was BEFORE the flash flood warnings.
