Tomarrow is day 18 for most of he eggs, the rest of the eggs that still need turned I am now only turning 3 times a day to minimize the amount I open the incubator

I think mine are on day 19 tomorrow. Think the hen will quit turning?

I have a beautifully developing breeding pair right now in the works-a white silkie serama cockerel and a smooth white pullet nice short back and nice and straight. Cant wait to mate them!! They are both outstanding. Just have to start working them on the table. Stan was my ticket for this show but he didnt make it. may enter Barry & Fuzz (wi=hite silkie cockerel-hes got quite the personality. but I have no left arm strength so I may just drink wine and observe this year and get ready for the next show!

How about now?

My daughter is sick with a 103.5-104.1 fever. We got her temp down to around 102.5 with a bath and tylonal and a frosty. Then she insisted, sick or not, that her chickens Rexi and Star, still needed attention.

I know people always say Silkies are broody, but I didn't realize they'd "Raise" another chick, while they were still a baby chick the way Rexi has taken on the mommy role to Star.

i don't know if either of them are "cute" or not, for their breed... but I love the little fluff on Star's feet. (cochin) and the fluff on Rexi's head. (silkie)

Awe! That is cute! And about what my ducks did. The ducks were almost a week younger than the chicks, but the pair adopted the chicks and poults. Tonight there is one female duck all alone (she is separate from the chicks, 2 of the poults are gone, and her brother is gone. The other poult will still follow her, but sleeps outside) in her corner of the coop.

Day 19-1st BCM egg pipped. too bad I am gonna miss all the excitement as I play secretary.

And tomorrow the students get to go to cadaver lab tomorrow and I cant go because my brace is "an infection control risk"...It's a cadaver lad-who am i going to infect!!!! I just like to watch and learn

Oh well-I will be reviewing policy and procedure and doing the teaching paperwork the actual preceptors should be completing

That is funny.

I need a vacation-maybe Ill take a road trip to PA and I can meet all of you and swap!
