We tried to make one of those in our kitchen and my toddler kept dumping the bucket out everytime he went in there, so it wasn't a go. They somehow get the dryer vent off the back of the house and slip in that way. I keep telling my husband to screw the vent into the brick, but he doesn't want to do that, he likes being able to take it off to clean it out as needed.

The downside? the mice figured out how to pull it off, too.

He said he'd try to fix it tonight. :hmm we'll see if he remembers when he gets home from work or not.
I use regular mouse traps in the house and the bucket outside the house.

Well hello to you! Yay NorCal!! I miss home. I'm familiar with Rio Vista. See my hub and I are retired truck drivers. We've literally been to every town in the lower 48. Pretty cool considering before I was 30 I'd not been out of California but a few times to Reno!! Then within a year,I had seen the lower 48 states! I'm blessed to have experienced such beautiful country. Montana is a fav of ours. Just beautiful there. We have a lifelong dream to go to Alaska. Would love to fully homestead but we were in a near fatal wreck 5 years ago. We were in our semi truck and were hit by another semi truck. At 80 mph. It was the freakiest experience ever. Now,we're both badly injured. My lower back is screwed for life. But! God is so good. We do not dwell on what were no longer able to do but are grateful for what we can still do. In much pain...but nevertheless we are blessed!!! We homestead on our farm as much as we can. Would love to be more self sustainable in the future. All things are possible through Christ!

Going downhill, or was it an Owner/Op?
I am sorry.

No! That's the thing....it was flat interstate 40. Eastbound. A beautiful, sunny, not a cloud in the sky day!!!! We were OO's. The other driver was company. Thank you.

We have mice/rat traps in the kitchen cabinets. I put everything in plastic containers, and don't put anything where a rat/mice might go. We really only see signs of them, after it rains for a few days. They come in to get dry. :(

Farm living at it's best.

My great pyr has been seen killing bunnies, wild birds, and rats, so maybe if I stick her in my kitchen, she'd catch the mice for me. LOL

Waaaahhh! Way too early for spiders!!! Yuck!
I was thinking the same thing. It's dark and I have my feet hanging off the edge of my bed while I sit on my laptop and debate on either working, or playing video games... and then spiders. Now my feet itch.

Thanks a lot. LOL

When I was little our cat brought a mouse in the house one time........it wasn't dead. Us kids chased it around with kitchen utensils after the cat lost interest in it's toy.
