You know how I was complaining that my silkie didn't like me? She actually got jealous of me holding the turkeys. She got out of her cage, sat on my knee, and peeped at me every time I peered into the turkey bin.

Maybe she likes me more than I think she does, but she has a funny way of showing it.

My buddy & I have access to 10,000 acres for hunting; primarily deer. We've offered to help the farmer / owner whenever he needs it. He's never asked for help, but a least we've offered. A quick & effective way to smooth the ruffled feathers of those "hunters"...don't give them access in the future, either.

Any way you can partially fill 5 gal buckets with one hand & pour them out in the run, spread it with the back of a dirt rake? I don't really think you're going to have a lot of luck hiring someone for manual labor; not these days.

thats what I am thinking. we have the quad to haul most of it back to the coop with a small trailer and shovel and bucket method. Might take a while but wo knows-will see how the free ranging goes today. I just wanted the run for growing birds and then for my ornamentals like my polish and silkie that are more prone to daytime predator attacks. Will worry about breeding pens for my bigger birds in the spring-no ned right now-hopefully we will both be more settled by then... bad timing with my hand, his job and all the rain

They are the ones delivering it tomorrow. trouble is we have a large stump and fenced yard that will not allow the truck to dump it back there. I hope it wont be too bad with the quad and trailer.....
