I hear the Brown Swiss can be pretty ill-tempered

They were fairly sweet when I went over.

That's just crazy to keep two bulls for no reason other than a 4H project, there is no way that is safe for a child. 

He's an older teen, but IMO bulls are never safe for anyone. A vet I met told me quite a few tales of bulls pulling head crushes out of concrete....



Let's hope she gets the vet out soon.

So looking like you've all gone to bed, but I thought I'd report back anyway....

Came home from work... (face painting if anyone would call that work?? but hey, I get paid!)
Candled and tapped remaining eggs as instructed. No movement... no cheeping...
Floated them... no movement.


All the air cells were quite small?? I think too small?? so does that mean too much humidity on days 1-18??

I am yet to do eggtopsies...got to work up the courage too.
So out of 11 fertile eggs, I have 5 chicks (one sticky, but ok) and 6 who didn't make it.

on the bright side... I WILL GET GOOD SLEEP TONIGHT BECAUSE I WONT BE WORRYING!!!

My 1st hatch was just O.K.; the 2nd & 3rd were real disasters percentage-wise. It happens. Bad, but not as bad with your own eggs as otherwise.

The cookies are still dough. I don't like them cooked. It is too early to eat anything, so they are safe for a while.
