It's a program for people to show off samples of their live stock and to sell and get awards. It requires (especially for kids) that they do local volunteer work, and what they can show is based on age.
My daughter is a clover kid, she's allowed to show goats, bunnies and chickens.

She can't auction them until she's a 4h kid (next year?) she's too young to sell her livestock, but once she graduates, she can sell pigs, cows, or anything else. Basically, they are taught nutrition for their animals, they have to go to meetings to learn about the care for each animal they are showing, and how to handle it for shows. Then, they have the option of auctioning it off - and the kids do pretty well, they can get a lot more at the auctions through 4h, then they would in other places for their animals.

Some of the show goats will sell for 2000+ a pop/.

If you get chickens through 4h, you need to quarantine any new birds you bring into your property. Ideally, 2 months, because some diseases won't show up right away, and you can wipe out your entire flock if you introduce a sick bird to your otherwise healthy flock.
is there anything I need to do at the auction

You don't see what I see, do you?

when do I graduate and get one of these????!!!!!

Someday...

Cochin vents should be trimmed so perhaps silkies need it too or perhaps the hens are too big for the vents to mate up.

Albumen covered chicks can be from low temperature, high humidity, improper turning, extra large eggs or older eggs. Since yours are hatching so late, I'd say your temps were 2-3 degrees low or lower throughout.

Pumpkin pie is my favorite, canned or otherwise.

You don't have to do anything, they'll eventually clean up on their own.

Do you have access to google?

Natives tend to be the best pollinators for indigenous plants. Some flowers don't attract honey bees either because they're shaped wrong or not numerous enough. Honey bees need vast numbers of flowers. They love flowering trees in spring.

Use alerts for drops in air fares so you can bring the whole family. I use http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/ and https://www.kayak.com/alerts

Nice. We raised angus but no dairy cattle.

Duckling is jumping on me, so try to figure out what I am talking about.
I have only ever used canned pumpkin once. I'm not used to it. I don't know that it is horrible, but it is not the same.
I was not patient enough to read the jabber and opinions from Googling. I knew Sally could answer.
I was getting out the stuff to make pies, and a bag of chips were in the way. So, chocolate chip cookies somehow got made instead.
