today it is a 4 h chick chain and it is a sale/auction. Is there anything I need to do when I get a chicken from there

I thought maybe you were going to join their chick chain project.

I do not think it would be a big deal. Embryos at this stage are pretty tough, and some even say lowered temp at lockdown makes the resulting chicks thrive a bit more.

It's a program for people to show off samples of their live stock and to sell and get awards. It requires (especially for kids) that they do local volunteer work, and what they can show is based on age.
My daughter is a clover kid, she's allowed to show goats, bunnies and chickens. 

She can't auction them until she's a 4h kid (next year?) she's too young to sell her livestock, but once she graduates, she can sell pigs, cows, or anything else. Basically, they are taught nutrition for their animals, they have to go to meetings to learn about the care for each animal they are showing, and how to handle it for shows. Then, they have the option of auctioning it off - and the kids do pretty well, they can get a lot more at the auctions through 4h, then they would in other places for their animals.

Some of the show goats will sell for 2000+ a pop/.

No, they are generally at our county fairs.

I figured either you or the Paddler would know...TY. Was never in 4H myself; where I grew up it wasn't very active, if at all; at least as far as I know
