I think that one of my BPR hens think she is a rooster, it stands on a
Standing facility I have bilt for them, and start trumpeting in a voice I have never herd made by a chicken!
When she starts she alwayes get a very fast encounter with a half rotten guava fruit flying in a 50 MPH!

i shouldn't laugh, but I would totally youtube a video of that and share it with the rest of us. I love seeing the antics chickens get up too. :L

Holy cow that looks very difficult solo with struggling chick... the sock is keeping the "hip" or "knee" right, and it ended up in a cup too lol... I'll check that out later to see if there was success with that and how long the chick took to straighten. I gotta get my son from his SAT test 45min away... **** small town lol
I had 2 that had some type of leg injury-a swedish flower and a super blue egg layer. I used the tape method on both of them-but of course i used the nurses paper tape. They are great!!! I am sure the SFH was a leg injury upon transport but the SBEL looked more splay. It was hard watching them hobble around but once the strength kicked in the were on the go! I tried the cup and sling method-no luck. They were too squirmy!!

At the 4h fair
If you are looking to buy chicks but don't want a ton from a hatchery, my pet chicken is a drop ship company with a minimum of 3-5 chicks and also sells starter pullets. But depending what you want, you are probably going to spend $100 easy and maybe more if you want more of the rarebreeds. They get their birds from Meyer Hatchery and I have been satisfied with my orders from them-always healthy and they stand by their warranty-also help you if you have questions or concerns.

sittn watchin my 9/11 only chick jump and hit the brooder cover, I'm thinkin it's time to turn him/her loose in the mini pen outside, tail is growing and wings are there for sure, hate to do it but gotta cut the string at some point, my 2 labor day birds are big enough to turn into the main pen, kinda tuff to let go of the birds and let them run,

Oh, Sally....

This is my favorite turkey so far, it's hard to tell because the thing was trying to see my camera. it wouldn't hold still, but it's slate-gray/blue, with red and white.

I agree, metzer farms, and cackle hatchery are also good choices.
