Hello first time hatching eggs bought online. Looks like only 2 out of 12 made it to full term. Most weren't fertilized. On day 22 and I don't hear anything going on in inside the eggs. Put a flashlight up to them and I don't see any movement. Do I stay patient or am I just wishful thinking? Help please

I tried the float test today day 22 and it seems they are viable eggs but there was no movement. If they are alive should there definitely be movement? Super attached to these little eggs but losing faith. Also put them up to a flashlight and I don't see the chicks moving? Could they still be alive just a late hatch or is this wishful thinking? Please help

The run right now-it was a muddy mess and the birds weren't looking happy. a new coop without a run for my free range layers is going up on Halloween and we have the materials for serama breeding pens in the garage all set to go. I am taking pics and having Bill take some too to document the progress. Trip to the feed store in a bit.. Other rare breed pens are going up in spring along the other side of the property...

What type of rare breeds are you considering?

This stupid chickens can drive me crazy, they have enough laying boxes but they always fight and make mess trying to reach one specific box.
Decided to make 2 new box from tiers

Made 2 of them
Great idea!

Quote: Toilet paper, what a great idea!

So went to coop to feed chicks one was dead. Ah man bummer I thought now back to six. As I watched the hen bring them out there were still 7 which means 8 actually hatched out of 9-10 eggs. Not bad hatch.

Here's the crew finally able to catch them all out.

Here they are staying out of hens way. They have learned when momma scratches to stay out of the way. She used to fling them out the back as she's doing the dust here. Which is why I thought the one died.

Very cute, sorry you lost one.

Quote: Good, it's not just me.

Quote: I'm sorry you're having a rough day, just listen to Bill.

A lot hotter than reg horse radish.

I have NEVER had sushi
It is now one of my favorite foods.
I sometimes make my own but Bob's Seafood with the sushi grade fish is a half hour away.
I went to the grocery store near me that makes fresh sushi every morning. I pass an all you can eat sushi place on the way which is cheaper but I wanted to eat at home and finish watching the ballgame. (cards won)
There are a lot of better sushi restaurants around but the closest of those is about a half hour away.

The best I've ever had was on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. I had the best ceviche there as well (but it's great all over the country).
I make a mean ceviche too. My son, the chef, said my ceviche is "spot on".

...
I've tried it once, and couldn't gag it down.
Can chickens get jealous? :p
My first time was a problem too but that was about 25 years ago.

I think so.
No!
Be were the little green stuff are not olives!

I like wasabi but one must be cautious.

what is the little green stuffs? poop?

Maj, think I would puke not gag, I dont like fish

I would sooner eat raw chicken
Eating sushi, I doubt you would even recognize it as fish.

Sashimi is a different story. Just raw tuna, salmon, mackerel or eel wrapped around sushi rice.
I eat raw or very rare tuna frequently.
I have embraced a raw paleo diet in the last 10+ years so I've eaten most meats raw except pork and the only chicken I've eaten raw is organic liver from my freshly killed chickens.
Some things have to be cooked but many are more nutritious raw.

oh!! I love horsey!!! how much hotter than reg horse radish?
Quite hot but I've had extremely hot horseradish too. There's a restaurant in N'awlins that has horseradish that you don't dare put more than a match head amount on your raw oysters - or it will take the top of your head off.

I'm so mad right now my

Benny I so love your intelligence, caring, humor but I really get a kick out of your English!!!
I bet he'd get a kick out of your Hebrew or Yiddish.

I understand you better than a lot of people on here that only speak English!!!

Here is the hog I stuck in Georgia,on my brother in laws land, about 2 months ago. Yes...I said stuck. We use knives.

Here are the two bucks my husband harvested last week. We hunt here on our 24 acres. He got a huge 10 point and a very big 4 point. We usually do not take a buck less than 8 points but this boy was a biggin!! We also needed the meat. Very grateful to the Lord for His provision.

I'm not posting a picture of my husband out of respect for his privacy. I didn't used to post myself but I do like to share about how God provides for my family.

Thank you for your patience! Hope y'all like and if anyone else hunts,I'd love to see the harvests!!!
God bless,
Glory
Nice. The last 3 deer I've eaten were road kill that died right here at the house.
That's salvaging good meat at its finest.

The bucks I understand, but as far as the hog,...with nothing but a knife?

You be one crazy lady, with way more guts than I'll ever have. You ever see what those tusks can do?
If you put your hand on their forehead, that stops them. They can't turn their head.

I can see a lot of good meat there!
Can you do this for me pleas
I dont eat pork and I have never eat dear so I am curious about a dear-boar burger!
1 pound of minced boar
1 pound of minced dear
1 large onion grated
Choped parsley
Salt
Black pepper
1 egg
Some bred crumbs
Mix all of them, kneed them for 5 minutes, make the burgers in a metal ring, leave for a couple of hours in the fridge an grill on charcoal grill
And tell me a
How is the tast?
Many people grind their venison and mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with ground pork to add fat. I much prefer straight venison steaks, roast and tenderloin. It's good in chili too.
We'll start behaving when the sky falls, and no earlier!

CC, stop dropping acorns on our heads.

All my oaks are red oaks so they only drop ever other year. This is the year they fruit. My daughter used to swear the squirrels were throwing them at her.

I got like 15 pages behind.

Sorry.
I feel your pain.

Tuna roll with spicy mayo, cucumber and avocado.
Shrimp and crab wrap with lettuce, carrot and cucumber.
That's pickled ginger, the green dab of wasabi and organic tamari sauce (like a low sodium soy sauce).
