Incubation -- At what point do I start to worry?

Hi guys.. so I have two Pilgrim eggs left (out of 7) that I put in the incubator. I candled them on day 25 in the evening before they went into lockdown and its now day 29 with no peeps. I marked the air cells and one of them has shifted since (air cell dropping I assumed) so I'm still reasonably hopefully. But at what day do I start to get concerned that they're goners? I ordered some jumbo pekins that arrived two days ago just in case we only had one hatch, it wouldn't be lonely. Can I candle tonight? What do I look for? The last time I candled them, I could hardly see anything so Im not sure what I would even look for if anything...

UPDATE: So I get home from work and OF COURSE one egg had pipped (the one that shifted)... except there's a new problem.. correct me if I am wrong but this baby is at the wrong end of the egg. Its peeping up a storm so its alive but... what to I do? Do I help it?

It's pipped on the wrong end. It's possible the gosling could hatch on its own, but I find these often need help. Pyxis's assisted hatching guide addresses this malposition, scroll down to that section for more info.

On the plus side, it looks like it pipped all the way through the membrane and shell, so no safety hole is needed. Remember: goose eggs can take a long time to hatch - easily even a day or two after external pipping - so be patient and go very slowly and carefully if you think you need to assist. Best of luck!
