Incubation Hatch Record Journals

The first time I set eggs I filled I think three pages just from notes on the two day test run. I didn't do any better once I put eggs in... I had an hour by hour chart I checked off. I had meant to only do a few eggs that year but I ended up setting 151 total.

Me? Nuts? Nah, only mildly.
That is what I want to eventually do as soon as I get some good bloodlines. What I showed you was just a test to make sure the equipment and my experience was up to par. Now I have to make more space this year and place my order well in advance for next years incubation.

:clap What breeds are you getting? I'm focusing on Partridge Chanteclers with Silver Ameraucanas on the side for their lovely blue eggs.

I started wanting Buff Orpingtons and then I saw Lavender Orpingtons, but then I wondered if it gets to hot in the desert where I live. I want friendly chickens. The Chanteclers look like the Bresse chickens that my wife wants. France wont allow that breed to leave the country.

Oh boy, if I tried that stunt I'd not have any more room in my house for me.

Aren't there some craft projects or carving or something you can do with eggshells? That'd be especially cute with the shells of hatched chicks.
It would be cute with the unhatched shells by removing the egg with a syringe or blowing it out. Then you would have a nice egg shell to work with. Some of those shells get pretty messed up by the time they come out. I had a couple that was cleanly zippered in the middle with 2 perfect halves that work great.

There are some Bresses in the U.S. but they're more than a pretty penny. Ouch. Yes, the white variety does look somewhat similar.
