incubation help needed asap!

I do have the hova bator. thanks so much. going to do that now. do I put the eggs back in right after taking the water out of troughs?

What sort of incubator is it?

I have a Hovabator, it has two troughs, one is used for the first 18 days, both are used for the last 3. The one gets humidity to 50-55% and both are 75-80%.

Sounds to me like you have both full, so if this is the sort you have, soak up the water in the central trough.

Being the first day, the eggs will be able to cope with being moved or cooling off a bit, think of nature when the hen would sit on the eggs to lay her next one then leave until her clutch was the right size. It takes a day or so of being the right temp to start the process.

Then, close the lid and wait for temps to stabilize, may take at least an hour to warm the eggs as well as the air around them. Then very small adjustments otherwise you will be chasing your tail trying to get the emp right.

Good luck.

I think the humidity reader is not working. dumped out water and it's now reading 90%. need to go get new one tomorrow. thanks again!

I also have a Hova Bator, I had serious issues with Humidity and then after asking questions just went to doing a dry hatch, I took all the water out until lockdown, everything stabilized and I had a wonderful hatch. And I wouldn't worry about moving the eggs this early on, they are a lot more hardy then we give them credit for.

what is a dry hatch? I did take all the water out and the temp has gone up to where it should be. and I got the humidity down. phew!

That's a dry hatch, taking all the water out... I did add water when I went into lockdown, but I put a small container in with a sponge and snaked a straw through the hole in the top to the container so I could add more without opening the lid :) Good Luck on your hatch!!!

Thanks. I am slowly adding water when I turn the eggs. Just a little at a time. it's now up to 40%. So I will again add a bit tonight when I turn again. and I am adding warm water, is that ok?
