incubation help needed asap!

well that was fast! it's off! fingers crossed we get more. today is actually the 20th day, so now we wait more!

now she/he is stuck to the paper thermometer by something. can't make out what it is but I assume it's the umbilical cord.
 
you cant just "cut it", you need sterilized scissors, corn starch, paper towels. and not too close either. if you take a real close look at it you can see blood vein and where it has dried up. i know a person that waited a couple days and it crippled her chick from not learning to walk . i would unstick it. when the cord comes off it is close to the body but if you have to cut it is much better to make sure your not by the vein and that will be farther away. if the cord is wet you can stretch it a bit to see it better. you can wait untll tonight but i wouldnt wait longer then that. BTW, congrats !!
 
No other pips. She's not fully fluffy. Cord looks pretty dry. What is corn starch for? Should I just cut it right where it's stuck to thermometer to be safe?
 
corn starch in case of bleeding. stops it pretty good. dip it if it bleeds. it shouldnt but just as i say that, it may. you should cut where it looks the driest. dont worry, it will be ok, it might break off when you pick it up.
