We just heard chirping tonight!!! Thought we saw rocking too!!! So excited. How long do we keep them in incubator after they hatch?

hardest part comes now. lol wait, then wait some more. they have unabsorbed yolk sac that will keep them for a couple days. But their rolling the unhatched ones all around !! thats ok too ! dont open the bator to"fix" the eggs. every time you do you lose more humidity and lower the chance of more hatching. i have read, when the chicks are dry or you may take them out every 8 hrs. Now, with that being said, i totally dont do any of that. i dont like them rolling the eggs so i made a little wire circle and enclosed the unhatched eggs so the babies couldnt get to them.i have my brooder ready and i grab and pop them in it as soon as they get their feet. this is not the correct way to do it, its just what i do.

The eggs are in the bottom half of the carton with a hole cut out at the bottom. They are not enclosed.
well, ive heard alot of people say thats what they do. i cant speak from experience.i am using a turner for the first time too so let me know how it goes..

Thank you so much. I think I will just leave whatever hatches in there until we feel the others aren't hatching. I don't want to risk the humidity and heat.

i am contradicting myself. lol they do say to take them out every 8 hrs. so the chicks dont dehydrate. but tons of people leave them in. i have decided that if their healthy enough it dont much matter . lol
