incubation period question-what is classed as day 1

It will be ok to just stop on day 17, no problem one day early wont hurt.

Fwew! Great. Thanks. Only my second hatch and I'm a bit of a stresser when it comes to incubating.


Huh! huge giggles. Would you believe this! I put eggs in incubator as none of my girls have gone broody and didn't expect them to for a while. So thought i would just hatch a few myself! Went down to feed this morning and my silkie girl is on the nest. I figured she was laying an egg. Just went to visit again and lady silkie is clucking away on six eggs. She's broody. Yah! more chickens!
