Incubation Process

KO,
I never let mine below 60% for turkeys anyway, Seems at 50% no matter how high I raise it during the hatch, they are always stuck to the shell , very gummy, and die. At 60% they do just fine.
Most turkey hens will dip themselves in the water every time they return to the nest, thus creating higher humidity in their natural incubation. I have watched all my hens of all my breeds do this religiously every time they get off the nest.
So, with that and person experiments in range, I have found both the turkeys and peafowl for that matter do best at around 60% any way..

Yep That works too.
I do it all the time with waterfowl. Trick is to keep the mister in the incubator so that the water and air temp is the same, and just a light mist, dont soak them

I have them in with them all the time. Chickens are as finicky as many people make them out to be. I've hatched them with waterfowl at even higher rates. 45- 65 % doesnt seem to matter in my experience

My temp was up to 104. Im on day three. It could haven been overnight or just a few hours, not sure. Now its at 100. Did i cook them?

maybe not if it was just for a few hours, a day or so at that temp would be bad though. I unplugged one of my bators last year so I could plug in my candler to check and freaking forgot to plug it back when I was done, they went a full day with no heat. All were about 12 days into their run, temp was down to 80 inside when I got in from work the next night . Amasingly everyone of them hatched still. So they are pretty tuff, think you'll be fine, just keep an eye on it

Thanks I'm trying to hatch blue palms I found a pair this last winter and they are wonderful. One other question does blue in turkeys work like chickens? Could I add a royal palm hen to the mix and get more blues? Just wondering
