Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

Quote: Those were from last year and most were sold. They were from random nests and I kept finding single ducklings in the yard, so I stuck them under the hen as I found them. She did not hatch any of them. The batch from January were sold.

So lacrystol when do you think the weather will be good to ship me some eggs? Lol. I need to know ahead of time so I can drop a bunch of money on an incubator in time for the eggs to arrive!

Spring is actually the best time. But you let me know when you get it. Test it out first with one of your own eggs, if everything is a success, then we can make arrangements to send some silkies. What color do you like, this will depend on who's laying too. I have dark partridges, silver/grey partridges, splashes which always are my best layers and paints they are hit an miss..

Plus I have the paints first batch reserved, so it will be a little longer for them.. In my splash info have a showgirl..

What a good mommy to take over them. I have tried with mine NOT GOING TO HAPPEN IN HER LIFE TIME. Could never figure out how they know what ones they hatched out compair to me added one...I thought maybe because of my smell on the baby, but quickly rethought that because she didn't have a problem taken hers back when I held them all...

They say chickens can visually identify over 100 different birds. Some of my hens are good this way, others know right away which one aren't theirs. My best by far is a Japanese that hatched two peachicks and fostered two more chicken chicks, one duckling and three more peachicks, all different sizes and ages, it was pretty funny.
