Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

Yes - exactly.  And I think the string is dried up in the dried blood - covered in the dried blood, and that is why you can't see it.

Ok after two hours cut it off, you don't want that string to go into her body, it's just temporary so that she can be free from the shell and have better moveablity..

Might even want to check it in an hour. Perhaps the blood was just excess blood still left in the cord coming out where you had the string..

Once that cord shrinks up go ahead and cut that string off...

I am going to turn in for the night - but for a while, I think, I am going to lay here on the sofa with her in her incubator on the coffee table here next to me. I want to monitor her - especially to make sure there is no more bleeding.

The poop is a GOOD thing, right?

OK - will do!

The cord is still attached to her body...hanging, covered in dry blood.  I am afraid if I clean it off too much, I will make it bleed again...

The cord is going to stay attached but as it dries up it will get thinner and thinner, it will look like a piece of thread, it will be dark not see threwish.

Now I am nervous - I don't want it going in her body! I think I need to clean up the cord now, don't you, and make sure I am right that the string is there and didn't fall off...or I will never know!

Oh hell yes, poop is good.

OK - I took her out and looked for the string. I don't think I see it - I am thinking maybe it fell off, although I can't find it. I gently pulled on what I thought might have been the string, but I think it was the cord shriveling up...Is the tiny "lump" between the cord and her body is the yolk sac still being absorbed?

If you are unsure. Then YES, clean her butt up and look for that string. It was just a temporary fix...

My husband was mad at me earlier because I wouldn't clean the poop out of the bottom of the bator. He wanted to clean it and the bits of blood inside. I told him, "We were advised NOT to..." so he went upstairs to bed! This is a man who can't even put his dirty socks in a hamper...worrying about poop in a bator! Geez!
