She'll eat just as soon as she's ready she has a couple of more days yet.

I won't do the corn syrup for all of them, just for those who need and extra boost..

Your welcome, will talk tomorrow, let's hope for more babies!!!!
Why the corn syrup? seems it would cause a duckling to have Hypoglycemia especially if not eating yet? Just a question only not saying it isn't the way to go, I've always just used Poultry Nutri Drench in the water on newly hatched ducklings and chicks.

A sugar boost is sometimes needed, but they are more likely to need plain-ole-water. With newborn foals that are having trouble nursing one of the things we do is rub corn syrup on their gums, done it with kittens, too.

Thanks Kathy, Have not heard of using it on other animals. I am pretty sure I saw it in a hatchery catalog to give sugar water to newly arrived chicks to get them to start drinking. What exacting does the corn syrup do? besides taste good. A sugar boost kind of like when a kid eats to many sweets and get hyperactive?
