Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

We already have a wet washcloth in there! I swear getting the humidity up is nearly impossible! I don't know what I am doing wrong to make the humidity so low! Anyway, I just re-wet the washcloth and put it back in....

You want to keep the exact dates because once we get one out and he's yapping around the bator, it will inspire the rest which will get them to hatch quicker. but if for some reason we have a slow poker, that's when you want to give the extra day. To those Slow pokers.. We don't know who's going to be a slow poker or an ONTIMER, so we will give them ALL extra days for that...

Larger surface area = higher humidity. Maybe many kitchen sponges?

Kathy

I was wondering if our hygrometer is off! I just asked my husband where our OTHER ONE is! He's not sure, but going to look for it. I will add more sponges and cover part of the incubator....I really don't want to lose this little one to my ignorance, so I am so so so grateful for all the help!!

Lori - I may be new to ducklings, but my husband and I have been though a lot with our other animals, cats, dogs, birds (finches to an Umbrella Cockatoo!), bunnies, guinea pigs and chickens! Kathy can tell you how she helped me save the life of our 1.5 year old Easter Egger, Sylvie, earlier this winter. By the way, Kathy, I am posting a photo of Sylvie for you here. It was taken in December, on an unusually warm (nearly 60 degrees!) day. She wasn't finished molting at the time, so she wasn't looking her best yet (like she is now), but boy did she enjoy feeling better and being FREE of the crate in our living room!

The big grey guy is Claude, AKA Daddy Duck (I laugh every time I see his cowlick!). The pure white, beautiful duck is Zippy, AKA Mama Duck!

GUINEA PIGS, I just got THREE MALE GP's. LOL I love them

ITS TIME, IT'S BEEN 2 1/2 HOURS WHEN YOU SENT THOSE PICTURES, DON'T OPEN THE BATER YET, TRY TO SEND ME A NEW PIC, LETS SEE HOW SHE'S GOING.

OK - here she is. I sat and watched her for 5 minutes. She is moving rhythmically - she reminds me of an old man in a rocking chair - going back and forth - but I never saw her open her beak or heard her peep. We added a wet sponge to the wet washcloth in the incubator, and the humidity is now at 58%.....thoughts?
