I don't think anyone has ever taken the hen's temperature - lol. I know what you mean but there are certain temps-humidity required for incubator hatched chicks. I think I would go by that because you can't program one like a hen. A hen may keep the chicks closely packed under her - I'm assuming if it is too hot she will let them wander away a bit. She turns eggs several times a day and so on. She works on instinct and not all broody hens know how to do it right. Some leave the chicks alone too much and they get chilled.
