Incubator fell - cracked shells Day 23 after 1 hatch

I found a breeder nearby and if they don’t have chicks I found another place nearby that has chicks so little Crash has a friend or two.

Good idea to have a back up plan.

It can be frustrating sometimes.

I was hatching silkies one time, my mom forgot to add water to the incubator once early in the morning, & it was bone dry, one chick died during hatch because it couldn't complete pushing out, I had a few shrink wrapped, & sticky chicks due to that.

It’s horrible and I want so badly to open the shells and give them CPR or help them but I know that won’t work. I feel helpless to watch them. The one hatched chick is fumbling around all over them too and alone. Keeps looking at me like get me outta this death. ugh. Heartbreaking.

They, may, or may not make it. It's best to give them the chance.

So sorry about your incubator accident. I once was incubating some shipped eggs in a Brinsea smaller incubator, and got my foot caught in the cord, knocking it off the table, and lost the whole hatch. It was so sad to see little eyes that had developed. I felt awful.
