incubator for christmas!!! but...

Hubby is getting me an incubator for Christmas & my birthday!

Granted, it'll be a VERY small one because our finances are stretched to snapping point but oh well... it's the ONLY thing I want!

Looking at Brinsea models, the tiny 7-egg ones...

1 - anyone have feedback on these models?

2 - how can you candle eggs, is it OK to open the bator? won't that disrupt the heat & humidity levels?

3 - with a manual model you'd have to open up the bator and manipulate the eggs every day, how is that good for the heat, humidity and egg cleanliness? Debating whether to go with the http://www.brinsea.com/prod-Mini_Advance_fully_digital_7_egg_incubator-230.aspx or would the http://www.brinsea.com/prod-Mini_Eco_manual_10_egg_incubator-229.aspx be good enough... being poor sucks but dang it's christmas!

I just got my Mini advance a week ago...So far so good. I like it & keep it on my kitchen counter, only thing I've noticed is that the motor is running a little louder then the first day. Seems like once you break it in the motor just kinda kicks into it's own hum, but it's not at all loud or bothersome. I really liked the fact that it was small & compact, and I did go for the advance so I didn't have to open it. When I do open to add water it loses about 1-2 degrees but once covered again it recovers the temperture within a few minutes. The advance features are a plus, however it does not keep track of humidity & my digital hygrometer is a bit big for this bater. Looks like I will need to invest in a better smaller hygometer.
