here's how I made the incubator: (sorry I don't have any pictures!!!
)
1. found a plastic box with cover.
2. put tinfoil on the inside
3. put wire on the inside; slightly raised from the bottom so a bowl of water (for humidity) could be placed under it.
4. cut another piece of wire and make it curve over a little spaced out area in the box; this is where the light bulb will fit in under the arched piece of wire to protect the egg and the chick from getting burned.
5. I put the plastic box into a card board box for installation. The cardboard box is very very slightly bigger than the plastic box, so it is nice and tight.
6. wrapped more tinfoil around both boxes. Then i added plastic wrap to seal it up for more installation.
7. cut air vents (3 of them) into the side of the box(2 on one side and 1 on the other) they are about the size of my pinky finger's nail. They are kinda like slits instead of round holes, so i made 3 of them for enough air to flow into the box.
8. I left some areas on the cover of the box free of tinfoil. the cleared areas are above the place where i will put the temp./humidity gauges and the eggs so i can see them without having to open the box.
9. add bowl and fill it with water(i added the bowl but i will fill it with water lastly)
I haven't added the light bulb and temp./humidity gauges yet. But how do YOU think it's looking so far? See any things that need fixing? Please give me your advise to making it better!
And do you think it has a fair or good shot at working when i test it with an egg? I think it does! If not, my dad will make a new one with a cooler, like the way MissPrissy made hers.
Is it good or no good? Tell me what you think! I want to try and make it as good as possible for hatching eggs! Thanks!!!
