Do any real smart people still frequent this thread?

My hovabator has died on me (big surprise) and coincidentally, at the same time, I have a very small fridge in my kitchen that appears to be dying too... so... guess where I'm going with this?

However, it is the wrong time of year to be doing this kind of project... I will save the fridge for later. Right now, I need to know about continuing to use my hovabator to incubate my eggs. I'm thinking I need a wafer thermostat (I'll compare the price to a hot water heater thermostat) and a light socket. The fan still works so I'm thinking I will keep that for now.

Any brainiacs wanna help me? And then sometime, probably in the summer, I'll modify the fridge and will need LOTS of help at that time.

I am not a braniac but a nerd/geek lol

I converted an Farm Innovators chick killer into a sup dupa reliable bator

The STC-1000 is a gem of a thermostat for an incubator upgrade

The diagram below is intimidating at first but instead wiring to an outlet, just attach the red and white wires coming from the thermostat directly to your element

14''x10''x9'' cooler with a 15 watt clamp lamp taped to a metal bowl for heat safety.

basket suspended on skewers and one to hold lamp

Blanket on top basket, basket tall enough to keep new born chicks from hopping over and skewer to hold in place

Glass door taped to top to turn eggs, without lifting lid and cooling bator holds up to 10 eggs less is better.
