Incubator problems

So the air cells grew large enough?

Did you have a seperate thermometer in there or did you just go on what the incubator said? Was 37.5c or 99.5f held steady for the incubation?

Ooops sorry the humidity was at 65% after lockdown

That's good for lockdown, what was it for days 1-18?

No separate thermometer just the incubator thermometer

It's better to have at least 2 other thermometers and hygrometers, especially with this non branded incubator. Built-in thermometers and hygrometers are known to be extremely unreliable.

I have the same incubator and we are on day 8 I did install two additional thermometers one of them has a humidity gauge the unit seems to hold the temp well the humidity is harder to pin down I keep trying to get mine around 40. It seems to hold at 50 pretty well but when it starts to fall it goes way down.... I am currently playing with sponges to try and stabilize it

It could be a temp issue, non branded are often wrong as stated above. Have you eggtopsied your eggs to see how far along development they got?

As your water evaporates away the humidity will decrease as the surface area becomes less. It can fluctuate but as long as your average has been good the air cells should grow adequately. Short term changes should not cause a problem.

Good luck with your eggs and hatch :fl

UPDATE: I actually cracked all 54 eggs as it was up to 29 days only three eggs had a fully grown chick but not alive had died in shell the rest had a great air pocket with no chicks.... but taking eggs out of incubator they all felt cold... humidity at 65% and temp at 38... I'm concerned that this incubator has issues... any suggestions on the best brand incubators to have? Thanks in advance. ... Carol
