Hi, , incubating 48 quail eggs for the first time. I have a fan assisted one. They have been in there for 2 days. One of my sons muppet friends switched it off. I think it was off for about 12 hours. When I switched it back on it said 25º. I have been keeping it at 38. Can anyone let me know if its worth persevering with it please. Thanks

I've read stories here of incubators getting switched off or otherwise malfunctioning, some of them undiscovered for up to 24 hours, with little or no harm done to the eggs. So they should, hopefully, be o.k. still. Candle them in a few days and check how they are doing. Fingers crossed!

Thanks. Will try that but not sure how to candle quail eggs. I have a special torch thing but it doesn't seem to work! Will let you know how it goes

Just giving you an update. We had eight 12 hatch on Wednesday. Lost 4. Had another hatch yesterday, then another one this morning and one trying to hatch! They are so sweet abd hilarious to watch.

Thanks for the update and congrats!

Would just like to say what an invaluable site this is. There are obviously many people who depend on you for your expert advice. Its lovely to be able to get advice from more experienced people. I intend to hatch more birds and will surely be seeking your advice again :)

Glad we could help! How many have hatched now?

We have eleven and they are eating us out of house and home. The larger two are already growing adult feathers on their wings and are practicing take off ! Can't wait to do it all again :)

Enjoy them! Quail babies are just adorable. I hope the next hatch will be less stressful for you!
