incubator temp question

Styrofoam bators are more influenced by the outside environment than any other. They don't always seal well and thus adapt to outside conditions quickly. I know thermostats are supposed to hold temps steady but the more difference there is between inside and outside conditions the harder the thermostat has to work. That is why the temp fluctuates so much when outside conditions are 65 degrees or lower.

Why not first try covering the bators with towels or blankets? This may help! You said your hatching rate is down...what humidity level are you using...do you add water? Maybe that could be the problem as well...
