Someone please help me understand!! I'm freaking out!!
I have Muscovy eggs in my incubator due to hatch today. I just candled the because they were suppose to hatch early this morning. Some of the eggs weren't completely filled, the bottom of the eggs light up when you put a light to it. I cracked a few of them open and the ducklings were still alive and were completely developed but had a lot of yolk still.
What causes this?
Should I leave the eggs in there longer?

Yes,, and do not open the hatcher for 3-4 more days..

That is an average incubation time, temp, humidity and line difference can vary that.

yes leave them in for way longer
what day are you on?
what temp did you run?

remember ducks take FOREVER to hatch!!! once they internally pip it takes about 24 hours to then externally pip, then it takes 24-40 hours for them to even start thinking about zipping and even when they think about they tend to poke n prod and punch holes in the egg before fully zipping

A lot more than that, This will be lowest rate I have ever had. I hate summer hatches. The humidity is just to hard to control here, because the ambient humidity can change 60 points in a hour.

I'm sorry I've been setting every egg I get from my CX hen but so far not one has developed. I know that my last CX hen that I had to butcher had fertile eggs in her. I was just hoping for some to develope. I'm not going to give up though, I'm going to keep on setting them.

Muscovies are very difficult to hatch in an incubator. You need to keep the bator closed and wait a few days and hope they hatch. Now that you've opened them, you need to watch the membranes very close to make sure they don't dry out. Keep your humidity up.

@Auroradream26 I do better when I am setting more frequently, I am just not sure how many more toads I really want.

If I new someone wanted a batch I would set them a little earlier so I could mail them out. But my summer as an old fart enjoying the tours of the local hospitals has taken a toll on my enthusiasm also....

They are on day 35 today. Temp was 99.5 with humidity of 65 and lock down 85 because of spraying.

were there fluctuations in temp?
shipped eggs or local?
forced air or still?

Eggs are local. I let them set in a auto turner for 6 hours before incubating and the room temp was 60 F

so did you rotate them in the incubator, still airs tend to have hot/cold spots
that can cause staggered/delays

Still air should have temps around 101-102 at the top of the eggs and eggs should be rotated around the incubator because of hot/cold spots. They're going to be a few days late.
