Embryo Movement is always a good sign. The air cell should be firmly in place - not wobbliy. I continue turning the eggs until day 18. That's when I place the eggs on their sides & increase the humidity. The lowest point of the air cell (left side in the pic below) is the side I place upwards. Of course the eggs may roll & get kicked around as the chicks hatch. I just do my best to keep the incubator closed. Others have great success keeping the eggs upright.Hoping someone can help me on here. I am extremely new to incubating. Only have four eggs as this is all they had of Olandsk Dwarfs.
I candled them today.(Day 14) They all have development and movement inside. Is this a good sign? Does this mean I might have a good hatch. I was just hoping that I might get one of the whole batch. Or is it still pretty iffy? As far as I can tell the air cells look good. (Don't really know what I am looking for there) I candled today because I was trying to position well for pipping the shell. Do Dwarfs and Bantams hatch early? This is my first try. Bought eggs and then went out and bought an incubator. It took the eggs 2 days to reach me in the mail. I had that incubator waiting. I did let them settle first. Hopefully, I did it right.
Oh My!
This is the only chick that I got out of my last hatch,I don't know what happened but anyway that's the way it is. This is where she decided that she would like to roost. She's been jumping in and out of her tote box and I let her because I feel sorry for her that she's probably bored. She's only 2 weeks old. This screwdriver is right above her tote and that's where her heat lamp was hanging from. We were looking for her on the floor and there she was up on the screwdriver, pretty funny.I saw you were on Ron so I thought I would give you the pleasure of this. Thought you might get a kick out of it.
