I only have Aussies, but I am thinking of getting some white leghorns, for the eggs. I am only going to breed the Aussies, but I won't need to worry about mutts, as their eggs are brown, and hard to mistake for x bred Leghorns. I would love the look of a black and white flock!

I will check out your page, for sure, as I have an amazing broody!
Thanks again!

Sorry, i need to sell eggs to pay the feed bill. I was just pointing out the fact that Impress wanted to give hers away. But my prices are really reasonable, as cheap as $5 per dozen for some breeds...;-) I am a chicken slave, I don't have a regular job. I spend every day building coops, collecting eggs, feeding and watering chickens and goats. Then I get up in the morning and do it again. It's heaven. You can read all about it on the large fowl only chat thread. I post there every night with the latest happenings.

I should update my page... my new coop was made from old palletts, the shingles came off an old barn (i'm still working on staining and putting on the roof). the door is the side of a computer case LOL. my hoop pen was leftover electrical conduit, but I did buy new pressure treated 2x4s and wire, and the old house is a dog house...

I would love to see pics of these when you have the time

We just spent a small fortune buying plywood, 2x4s, and 1x2s for trim for our coop. It looks very pretty in barn red with a coffee brown trim, but I still like my old coops I used at my old property...a XL dogloo, a revamped office desk and various other items I picked up on a website - for free! Call me cheap but I just hate to see stuff not being used or filling up the landfill when it could be housing my pretty chickees...

I am NOT an addict - definitely NOT! There is no way I'm an ADDICT! That being said... I have 27 Silkie eggs and 10 Lavender Orpingtons that arrived yesterday and I'm putting them in the bator today.

There is however room for 42 eggs on that turner. So that gives me another 5 spots to fill. I bet if I bought another bator at Tractor Supply I could quickly get a dozen EEs and fill my 1st bator and then put the remaining 7 eggs in the new bator. And if I got the same size bator I could again do 42 on a turner and that would mean I could fit another 35 eggs which clearly translates to 2 dozen with extras...

but I AM NOT AN ADDICT!

I've started collecting eggs for hatching and I'm gonna do at least 30RIRs. All of my last run appears to be duds.

Tuesday I set the new run. I'm sooo excited!!

You people are such enablers! Who would want to get cured, it's too much fun!! Thanks Hot2pot and discoveregg, enablers!

WHOA! Hold up there! I just read on one post that someone replaced their "standard" size turner holders with those tiny holder to hatch bantams. Does that mean I can fit more eggs in if I switch mine out too? Hmmm, sounds interesting.

That is why I have the Octagon 20 ECO, it has rails so I can adjust the size of the egg holders, if I did just bantam eggs I could probably fit at least 60!

You sound like me!!!! Only I don't have goats! I just don't have time for the trivial things like remodeling my house or moving. Does the coop building ever end?!?!?!?!?!
