Yes lgs do take a lot of practice but I am very glad I learned how to incubate with them! It doesn't take long to learn as long as you learn from your mistakes. You can find a wealth of information here on byc for any problems you are having. In order to learn you should do eggtopsies on all eggs that don't hatch. Doing that can tell you if the temp was off, humidity was too high or low, or if it might be a breeder flock problem. Good luck!

i've got a nice little splash (something) lined up to go with some of this one's black sibs, to make me some blues, but this is my first self blue. (aka lavender) the roo is split self blue, as are 2 of the hens, and i've got 1 self blue girl too. think she's the momma actually, as the egg was labeled sb and the others i mark /sb. either way, it's sticking around. if a roo he'll get one of the black split girls, if a hen she'll go with the poppa. (well, unless i hatch out more that is - 3 more eggs yet to hatch from that pen)

So I have fallen off the wagon.... that didn't last long

So I set those eggs yesterday because of an order. Now I have to set eggs (if the lady will get back to me) to hatch for someone else that was already arranged before my break, we are splitting the order and hatch..... of course I had to request more eggs, BLRW and Guinea..... so that will be 4 doz eggs...... SOMEBODY STOP ME

How can I stop you when I have another 100 eggs on the way! I have to quit. I will not order any more eggs (until all these hatch).

oops forgot about the 2 dozen eggs coming from Porters turkeys. They have awesome rare breeds and I am so far hatching all but 2. Everything is pipped from my last dozen from then except 2 quitters.
