You know, SS stands for Speckled Sussex, you had better be more specific :-D

I figured since we'd been talking about Silver Sussex SS would mean Silver...

I have to be careful marking eggs, SiS is silver Sussex. Some of the eggs I can tell by looking at the egg which breed laid it. Like Buckeyes have pointy eggs, others are blue or white. I am going to have to pack stuff all morning, I had best go to sleep.

I'm soooo eggcited, if you can't tell......

I have to say that it's times like these that make me become addicting to incubating. Today is day 15 for me. Out of 41 eggs I have 31 left. Everyone is growing well and I can't really see anything in the egg anymore because the baby is just too big and blocks out the light. The air cells look good and in general the incubation is right on track. Lock down is on Thursday and I am off from work for the whole weekend starting Friday. I can sit and be patient the entire 21 days just thinking about waiting for the last week. Now if only they all were girls.....

Hehe totally depends on need. I hatched out a bunch of batches this year and got almost all boys and hardly any girls. I am trying to get to at least 6 girls in each pen so that I will have enough eggs for hatching in spring. Hopefully this hatch will have more girls to choose from than the last few have.

. Are they the same size as the Coronation Sussex?

ok... well here goes. lockdown tomorrow, unless i delay until internal pip...

still not sure they're growing fast enough, but guess they are from responses i've gotten on the thread i started. just second guessing everything right now.

as of today i've lost 11 of the dorkings in the last 6 days, down to 7 from 21. the ee's are doing good, 9/14, and bantams 8/11. and all 9 eggs started by my broody are deveolping well, they'll go in lockdown next week.
