I have 20 chicks in my giant brooder that hatched on Monday. The next batch is set to hatch Wednesday. So here's the question...can I put the new babies in with what will be 1 1/2 week old chicks? My brooder is 4'x7' so space isn't really an issue. Do I need to add a divider?

Yes I do it up to 3 weeks but I also keep an eye on them and you have more room then I do as mine is only 36 inches X 30 inches ...

Only thing I can think is maybe a dehumidifier in the room??
I'm working now on moving my entire "process" to a whole different room. Nothing in my house is stable, but hopefully less issues in an unused room.

. I incubate in my basment which is unfinshed but heated it has a very stable temp,no drafts and a dehumidifier running in a diff. Room so I know the air in there is about 35 to 40 % . It is very controlled as no opening doors etc to change the room temp. What I do knowing my humidity is high in the air I let the humidity drop very low a few times while incubating if I see small air cells. Gauges are great but the egg will tell you more I candle a couple in place just to check air cell progress. It is trial an error for your home everyones is different and humidity can vary from room to room a lot. but bad hatches happen I just had a 50% hatch they were shipped eggs but I did an eggtopsey on bot one quit probably day 23 or so ducklings and one was very malpositioned which is an issue with shipped eggs.

Planning on incubating Turkey, Goose and chicken eggs together in my Hova bator still air, picking up the Turkey and Goose eggs today. I know I can do the Turkey and Chicken in my egg turner but how to position the Goose eggs? there are going to be 6 My plan was to take out 2 or three of the turner trays and just lay the goose eggs on there sides and turn three times a day??  Any better idea's?? Anyone have photo's of what there incubators look like with all three egg types placed together? All I have incubated to date is chickens... I have a couple  concerns, I am going to buy another thing to measure temp and humidity today because I know if I lay the goose eggs down the temp would be different for them then at the top of the turkey eggs (which will be in the turner) unless I just  don't use the turner at all and turn eggs by hand?? 

I caution your plan, especially in a still air bator.

You have three types of eggs of different sizes different hatch days and different humidity requirements.

If you proceed leave the turner out completely.

What is in the bottom of ur bator? It looks like some sort of cloth. Does it not mess with humidity? I cannot stand that stupid wire grate, & would love to learn something new I can use.

So, the paper towels is what u use for humidity then?
