Grats! Best of luck to you and those little fluffers! Can't wait till I set some call duck eggs.

I was planning on giving some to my broody hen but I couldn't collect more than two.... So she gets some shipped eggs instead.

Candled the iffy eggs tonight. Down to 21 turkey eggs and 9 duck eggs. Not one of the Nargarsett eggs made it

This is a fun group. It's obvious that you all are enablers, I love it! I've been hatching all spring after many years of not doing so. Muscovies are my next project. I've bought lots of eggs here on BYC. Some have done well, some not.

My last batch, day 19 today. I bought from 2 different wyandotte breeders, very few made it to lockdown, lots of clears. GLW, 2 of 12, SLW 3 of 16, and bantam BLR., 9 of 18. I hope a few make it through hatch!

Some breeds just don't ship well..... Wyandottes are one I have seen.

Ok. Its day 32 on my last turkey egg that was due to hatch Friday!! Its starting to freak me out! I keep candling, and its still a kickin'!! Will it even be "normal" after being in there so long?

What happened was my broody hen wound up with 7 extra eggs tht I was unaware of. I didn't know my rp hen had even started laying, so the broody couldn't cover them all. I took all but a few eggs and brought them in to the hatcher, & some had died, some hatched, but THIS ONE! Holy cow!!!

Given the circumstances, the set date might be later than the others. Hang in there . . .

Hi Connie!!

Lots of other opportunities as you know (edited to add) to try many kinds of eggs from all over . Many challenges to hatching eggs that are shippied. ONe friend who likes to hatch has also figured out which states to buy from because of USPS handling methods . . . . Some routes are kinder to eggs than others.

It does seem that way. So interesting.
