All the eggs will be mixed, minus the Seramas.

All my LF's are still together, we just finished the chainlink fence that we;ve been working on forever. Now to start making pens inside the fence. *sigh*

I scored some FREE SFH and CCL eggs.... she does not know if they are fertile.... I am going to check for her. LOL

Not sure how many eggs I have in the bator.... maybe 60 more (2 sep batches)

You guys are crazy!!!! LOL I am only trying to hatch 5 eggs! BYT, I do not have the eggs in my incubator yet. They don't come until today and I want to set them tomorrow morning. So, I need more help...My new incubator has been running now for about 30 hours. I went and got a third thermometer/hydometer and placed it inside last night with another one that came with the machine. It also has a built in one on the top of the incubator. So the two inside thernometers are only saying 90 degrees. The built in one (at the top of the machine and near the motor) is saying 100 degrees. The inside hydometers are saying 12% and 20% and the built in one is saying 24% (dry incubation). The vent holes are at the bottom and I am thinking that because my house stays 60-63 degrees, the air coming thru these vent holes may be too cold. Do you guys have any suggestions about how I can get the temp up inside the incubator? Do I just go ahead and adjust the settings on the incubator to 110 if the inside is only going to be 100? Can I drop the incubator inside a big box to keep the colder air away? I don't want to plug up the vent holes do I? Won't that be bad for the eggs? Maybe I will try to put the incubator in my bedroom....not quite as cold in there....maybe only 65 or so. Any suggestions? Why are all these hydometers so far off from each other????? Confusing!!!!

It is awful how inaccurate the hygrometers are, as far as keeping the temp up I would say your house temp is causing the difference between your upper and lower readings. I would raise it slowly until you get the correct reading at egg height.

Can you tape another thermometer to the top near the other one reading 100? That seems to be be a huge temp swing in a bator that is really not that big. Does it have a fan? I have an incubator that is about 4 1/2 feet tall and I don't have temp swings from the bottom to the top. maybe a couple of degrees.... like 98 -100 but I have 2 fans and my heat is at the bottom really.

I called the company and they didn't think it should have that much difference either. They may have to send me a new top. I am also trying to heat up that room (can't heat the whole house that much) to see if warmer air being drawn in from the vents at the bottom of the incubator will make a difference. I had an email from Richard Jordon where my eggs are coming from and he says to set the eggs at 40-45% humidity for the Cream Legbars. The humidity readings are pretty much all the same within a few degrees now, so that shouldn't be a problem. Just working on the temp.
