Well I fell off the wagon today,I put 40 eggs in the 1202 today.I thought seperating my rooster would keep me out of the incubator, but I ended up getting eggs from the neighbor.
How long where you on the wagon?

I tried the wagon.... but it didn't work .....

I have almost 2 trays (60 eggs if I fill them) and have some shipped eggs coming. When I set these.... I will have started using a SECOND LEVEL.... I have not done that in months

This year I have people that will buy my day old roos so that is a better start.

A buyer for the cockerals is great. I consider myself lucky when I can give them away. It's surprising how many you can get(definately more than 50 percent)

I put an ad on CL and FORGOT to say FREE. They kept asking how much so I said $.50 each as day olds. Got to love that.

I don't have to feed them for even a week and get paid

I have a guy that kinda buys my roos. He brings me pine shavings when he comes to get the roos. He usually get 10-30 a trip. But cash is GREAT too.

i 'name' the bambi's living on our property... lunch dinner thanksgiving and christmas... hubby's trying to finish fixing the car then he'll have time for some bow hunting. we're lucky, in our area they have 'urban population control' bow season from mid january thru the end of March... he's planning on heading to his mom's as her bambi's don't even flinch when the dogs go off.

roosters don't get named until i decide they're staying for sure. same for most of the girls, unless one is distinctive. most of my naming revolves around their coloration or some such... (tannish, orangey, big red, etc) not really names, but ways of identifying which one i'm talking about.
