my texas a&m were sent early so they were 2 weeks plus in age when set. i got 10/30. i set 200 XLD jumbos and got 110. the eggs traveled across usa the 7500 miles in 2 planes so a 50% overall hatch rate is excellent.

if i get 50% on my chicken eggs on wednesday i will be over the moon.

My new thermostat has reached NEW YORK! It was coming from Hong Kong! It should be here in a couple of days!!!!!

I don't have a still air homemade bator. mine has air circulating and they hatch early to one time when I keep it at 99-100. 102 would kill them in mine.

his was 113 for 9 hours.....they are cooked.

this is the second time I have seen this comment for 102.....but I don't have still air bator. don't trust them.

Agreed. Mines forced air as well and its never set above 99 period.

can someone give me an idea on how to make my own incubator....and what do i need to buy
i recommend a STC-1000 thermostat http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/281044571320?lpid=82

110v case fan x 2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/120mm-AC-11...mputer_Fan_Grills_Filters&hash=item35c382ea9f

3" machine screws and nuts

spacers for fan (extra nuts will do)

foil tape

foam insulation sheet http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbrande...ft-Foam-Insulating-Sheathing-754404/100572981

a plywood box that will fit a turner - you may not want initially but turning eggs gets old

2 8x10 plexiglass (make double plane window)

a heat source - most people use 2 x 60 watt incandescant light bulbs. i use 220v heater elements running on 110v http://www.ebay.com/itm/1pcs-Electr...131?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2334b54c43

a power cord - i buy a 99c store extension chord

a digital hygrometer/thermometer

the pics below are a small hatcher made from a wine box but you should get the idea
