So I am at day 20. I've done a dry hatch with humidity between 25 and 35 for the most part. I got humidity up to 50-55 on day 18 and then today, I hear peeps. So I added water to more channels and humidity spiked to 75 and temps are at 95. Is this bad?

So. I got my genesis set up! Yay! But how long will it take for the light to stop blinking? Its at temp, but just keep blinking away! Lol

Hi! My name is Sheila and I'm NOT an incubating addict...I got a Genesis 1588 for Christmas, an RCom Pro 50 for Valentine's, and an RCom Pro 20 for when I want to hatch just a few eggs. I currently have 48 Silkie eggs, 13 Welsh Harlequin and 120 quail eggs incubating. I counted 41 silkies & Bantam Cochins eggs I've collected the past 6 days and am thinking of going to TSC in the morning to maybe try out the Farm Innovators Pro Series incubator they have in stock--will check their return policy first because I don't really plan to keep it just that there are all these eggs that NEED TO BE INCUBATED...

I may have to cut holes in the bottom of some egg cartons and try that. Last time it drove me nuts that the new babies were knocking the other eggs around everywhere. Made me nervous! And I had 2 die in the eggs after some had hatched and always wondered if that was y. They were not shrink wrapped or anything, and had already pipped. So, I'll have to figure out something like that!!

I have done that too. Before I got the plastic holders. I have heard on here from some that the foam cartons give off a gas from the heat. I don't know that for sure but didn't take a chance and used paper. The plastic holder that I have wont hold all the eggs I have now so I will have to put some laying beside it. Or I may not have that many eggs going into lock down. I will put my own eggs laying because they had good air sacks at the top. I am no expert. Just do what ever I can to help make the hatch better.

I had a chick hatch today that appears to have vertigo... it has trouble standing but when it gets upright it rolls over on it's back again.. ?? i haven't seen this before..
