Looks to me you get what they give you. And the "project crosses" can be anything or just plain BYM. Not like you have a bird to compare them to. The guarantee of 4 other breeds seems like a way to swap in the BYM's and after they hatch they can say Yep that's the X project. And the last guarantee isn't 1. They already stated that they have "Project cross" eggs going in he batches, so the pure breed statement is rather useless there. To me anyway. But I am paranoid I guess.Ok so one time and your hooked. So I'm planning my next hatch for the day after memorial day when I return from vacation. I found Creme Legbars an hour drive away, some town west of me, they're $25/dozen plus the gas to get there. Then in some other town out west too I think I found these eggs:
"Fertile hatching eggs available. Purebred and project crosses 10$ Blue/black/splash Ameraucanas, mille fleur project crosses, mahogany heritage Rhode Island Reds, rhodebar, and Buff Orpington. The catch is that most eggs will be buff Orpington and Ameraucana with a guarantee of at least 4 of the other breeds as the flocks consist of mostly trios. Guaranteed purebred unless already stated. No choice of breeds. Price is per dozen."
So I'm kinda confused on what that means I'll get? But $10/dz is pretty cheap. Then the same seller has quail for $3/dz, crazy cheap and they seem fun. From what I read I put them in with the 2 dozen chicken eggs 5 days later, so they all hatch at once. Its a farm innovators incubator and hold 42 and I like it to pretty full (did 3 dz last time). So 3 dozen this time but 1 dozen quail. Does that seem full enough?
A batch of shipped eggs due to hatch today. There's not even a pip.![]()
