That might heal up. Looks more like a hernia at the navel.
I am looking for some info/help in hatching Toulouse goose eggs. I had a 50% hatch my first time (2/4). I incubated them like chicken eggs except I had a staggered chicken egg hatch going on with them and humidity was raised accordingly towards the end for each batch. I am thinking I just got lucky. They were all fertile from my neighbor and he wants me to try again. I am wondering about the cooling and misting. If and or when and how often etc. Any help would be appreciated!Long long day ahead for me again, I have one goose and two quail eggs pipped. The goose started last night so I expect it wont be much longer before she starts zipping, quail just pipped this morning so I will maybe get to see them this evening.
This is my first time hatching geese...ever. So I won't be much help. I didn't do any cooling or misting with this group. :/ Have you taken a look at this thread? Still waiting on little goosey to hatch, just at the pip stage. Have three other quail all pipped with one just starting to zip.
I've got some eggs due the 14th that are already pipping. I discovered that when I opened the incubator to make sure the wells were full. Hope I didn't shrink wrap anyone.
My goose is still in the pipped stage, I can see her beak but it's been 20 hrs now. Idk if I should help or what.....
