I have a question on an incubator. I just got a Brinsea Mini Advanced Incubator with an automatic egg turner. When the automatic egg turner is in, and all of the eggs are in, there is really no room for an additional thermometer. Can I trust the Brinsea's thermometer that is built in with the incubator, or is there a way to get a thermometer in there without compromising the amount of eggs that you can fit in there? Thanks
Hahaha. I got one of those. Too small. When the chicks hatch, be careful they don't get hung by the thermometer that is attached across the incubator top. And I had one die when it got his head stuck between the water well and the plastic plate on the top part! I only use it now for a chick infirmary. It has saved many chick lives. I use it when I have a distressed chick hatch, or I had to help one and it needed not to be stepped on by others or when my broody hen didn't hatch the last few eggs, etc. It has been invaluable for that use, but just too small for hatching. IMO
