ok... here's a question I'm pretty sure I know the answer to...
How many is TOO MANY? 8) in addition to the 34 eggs I currently have, I'm waiting on 6+ marans eggs, and counting today's 3, I have 26 bantam eggs sitting on my desk.
so by my (non chicken) math, that's somewhere just under 70 eggs...
if you estimate that only 50% shipped eggs hatch, that's still still 46 eggs that would likely be viable!! and i just talked to someone who got dorking eggs from the same guy, she had 90% hatch!
my turner will hold 42 eggs. so... what happens if i have too many fertile eggs after the 5-7 day candling, to fit in the 42 slots? and where will i put all those fluffbutts when they hatch???
ok someone stop me before i pull all my (very short) hair out!
oh! and post a link for that 'bator you're "borrowing" !! i can see now my tax refund is already spent! unless someone knows someone who's selling a used one that nobody here... uh... was going to say needs. no, wants? no... has no room for?? OH! yeah i know... if you've recently upgraded and don't have room for any smaller ones??? hm. that probably won't work either. small ones are easier to fit anywhere. *sigh*
