Incubators Anonymous

Wow was that a special price or is that their regular price. I might have to pick me up a second incubator at that cost then I can run an incubator and a hatcher which would really make life easier.

That is my plan. CHookschick, from what I understand, runs several LG and transfers the eggs each week into another LG that acts as hatcher. That means, I need 2-3 incubators more!!

sorry somehow this one slipped by... LOL
regular price. http://www.lllreptile.com just use their search for incubators, the website's a bit odd.

My finally tally was 29-30 chicks. 2 Lavender Orpingtons, 9 Speckled Sussex, 8 Light Sussex, 1 mixed chick..hatched from a Light Sussex egg??

It is blu with a whiteish face. He has a weird comb, never had one like that before. It is not a single comb for sure. Then I hatched out hatched out a Serama, a Lav x Millie Fleur Cochin chick, and then 8 Blue/Black Marans.

I had 2 Serama chicks hatch yesterday night. Wednesday I have another Serama egg due to hatch. Then tomorrow I'm putting around two dozen bantam Orpington eggs into lockdown. They're due Thursday.

That odd chick could be either coronation / light Sussex or light Sussex / cochin . I just finally got the cochin hens out of the Sussex pen and into their own with the blue and splash cochins. Yay! Glad your hatch went so well:yiipchick

Day 20 on my Oct 5 setting, and I have 3 pips!!! Woo hoo!!

I have a similar setup that you described for Chookschick... I have two styro incubators that I use to incubate, and one that is solely a hatcher. I try to space the hatches so that they are a week from one lockdown to the next (that doesn't always happen). But I'm getting better at it.

Ok, I have 10 mallards in the bator and I just won an auction last night for silkie eggs. I am officially addicted!

Also collected 4 more mallard eggs today, guess what I'm going to do with those?!

It doesn't look anything like a Sussex, but it doesn't have a single comb either like a Cochin/Sussex?

I'm not sure what kind of comb he has, but I will try and take a picture today.

Thank you.

I'm offiical ! 3 eggs in the incubator!

BO hatched 2 more today, one was weird: the shell mostly zipped and then crushed. Odd. I took pity on the little thing and finished pulling the shell apart. Total 10 in the brooder. Hen went back to work sitting on the eggs, but then I saw her out and about and the remaining eggs were cold.

Those 3 went into the incubator. Just in case . . . .

So I'm official.
