More baby quail today, and more chicks. I need to figure out how to best take baby pics. We were working on a new coop today, making good progress. I did manage to post my own pics on the new auctions i put up today. I need to set more eggs.

Got my first dozen Marans eggs for hatching! My son told me there were 4 eggs
cuz I already got 1 so that is 5 in one day from 6 girls
I will set them maybe Friday or Saturday depending on how many I get. My incubator will be empty then, what do you think???? It is already warmed up
Never thought about getting so many so quick. Maybe I will set more.... maybe 40... you know just to see what happens.

Ya know, Hot2Pot makes a very valid point here. I mean, this world is in an energy crisis of sorts, and whatever you can do to contribute to the preservation of energy is what you MUST do. Consider it an "environmentally friendly hatch".
You might as well fill up the Bator, you wouldn't want to waste the electricity to just hatch some:-D
Ya know, Hot2Pot makes a very valid point here. I mean, this world is in an energy crisis of sorts, and whatever you can do to contribute to the preservation of energy is what you MUST do. Consider it an "environmentally friendly hatch".

i ended up with 8...
the other pips quit after pipping... but i did get a dorking out this morning...
oddest thing. he pipped, zipped, and then turned upside down and started zipping again! but he got stuck or tired so i let him out LOL man he was off like a shot across the incubator soon as i got his head unstuck.

Donna, my incubator is full of marans eggs; willing to fill yours, too? Showed DH my first egg last night and he was amazed at the color! We need to amaze more people with the beauty of the marans eggs, . . . the OE eggs, . . . . the EE eggs . . . hatch on!

I woke up to 3 more fuzzies. 1 BLC and 1 CLC and then the last one I'm not sure cuz I haven't opened the box yet. I have 2 more with new pips. I will keep you posted! We are going to hit up the Tractor Supply first though. 20% off toys!
ETA: PS- what does BLC stand for? I don't remember!

the final count is 3 black/lavender (b/lc - i think 2 are actually lavender), 1 calico (cmc), and 4 silver laced (slc)
