Quote: It maybe that the humidity that is working for other eggs is not right for these eggs, or they are dying before they have reached the point of being dry at day 21 hatch.
Liquid vitamins can be added to their water. I have a book on hatching with detailed support why feeding breeder formulated feed is better than layer feed for the breeder birds.
I would go for liquid vitamins if the grain stays the same. OTherwise try breeder feed for just the AM. GEnerally , 4 weeks of feed to see the true effects of the feed.
I was thinking maybe the humidity was the problem too. But what to change it to? How could I do that for just one breed?I just candled all the eggs and SOME of the AMs eggs I really looked at HARD. I saw movement in all of them. The humidity has been near 35% most of this hatch.... since the ambient humidity is high right now. MAYBE this next hatch will be better since the humidity was higher.![]()
I think they are dieing near lockdown and that is why they are still so wet. There were 2 that were further and much dryer.
I am going to get some vitamins and maybe feed them some extra barley for a little while, not too much though.
I will update.... hatch for this batch is Wednesday. Then I have 2 more behind that. Maybe there will be improvement with slightly higher humidity.
