Can someone answer a question for me about egg turners? I have the Genesis Hovabator and want to buy the egg turner. All my eggs will be bantams. Do I need the quail size egg racks for the turner or just use the regular chicken size egg racks? I had banties so long ago, I can't remember what their eggs were like. I've ordered eggs already and I want to get everything in my 'bator set up before I get the eggs!

use the regular egg turner. the quail rails are too small. i use the regular rails for everything from bantam, guinea, chicken to turkey. the only thing i've found to fit the quail rails so far, are... well... quail. LOL

oh. and the lg turner will also fit the hovabator. so get whatever's cheaper. i found it cheapest for new, for the lg from tractor supply.

Up to I think 5 maybe 6 pips but no progress from the first pip thats now 10 hours old

In one of my more recent hatches, the first to pip was the last out. ANd it only made an entrance because I carefully investigated its status and it was shrink wrapped. Took too long or couldn't zip. Doing fine now.

I ended up with 51 chickies!

Super cute thanks so much I needed a chick pic fix. Im up to 8 pips going on more then 12 hours since the first one and still just pips but my cat just came over and layed next to the bator for awhile and he usually ignores it till the chicks start hatching so hopefully soon .

22 hours and Still nothing only one pip has changed at all and that was to make a little hole not to zip everyone else is exactly the same. I shure hope they are ok. I have had to fight to keep the humidity at 70 % I have two damp hand towls in there and jars of water with sponges .
I have 9 pips hopefully they arnt all shrinkwrapped. Little buggers need to come out so I can relax.
