the second batch of store bought eggs hatched great. 72 went into lockdown and 65 hatched. I sold 60 of them and kept 5. 1 died and the other 4 are doing great. There was another brown one in there too!

Little brown is great. His feathers are coming in and he looks to be developing barring. If i could ever remember to take a picture I would share it with you.

Oh no! I just found another breed I think I NEED. I was looking at greenfire farms website and saw the Hedemora. It is described as the most cold hardy chicken in the world. Here in Minnesota it would fit right in I think. But when we have heat waves like we just got over with I guess you need to provide ac for the birds. It is a little steep in price at $49 per UNSEXED chick.

I have not heard of these before so I guess that hatching eggs are out of the question. Any body know of these birds or have any? They look beautiful and the cold hardy part is what I like.

lol she is really cute she just up graded from a sandwich sized rubbermaid type cage to a little plastic basin cage

That is a Button Quail I recivied 50+ eggs 47 made it into the bator and 1 hatched she is pretty lonely I sure wish that at least one more had hatched for her sake but hopefully this will make her very tame as button quail are usually very flighty.
This is the day she hatched
Here she is in her upgraded penthouse that is a milk jug cap being used as a water dish and its still about as big as she is
I put the q tip in there as a size refrance
