Donna, believe me I'm NOT adding guineas to my menagerie. I'm strictly LF chickens and turkeys and ducks. No top hats, no silkies, no no no. NO. No guineas. No quacking ducks. But I can still enjoy a picture of guineas!! ANd emus!

I need EASY birds. THe turkeys are low key: the three toms cruise the yard in silence, with low toned trills. THey scare most people ! The ducks make a tiny hiss at best but are not likeing to be handled so trundle away as fast as their legs let them waddle out of reach.

Don't need guineas to destroy wall--rottie pup did that one already and never again!! LOL

My 3 1/2 year old son and 5 1/2 year old granddaughter both thought they sounded like ducks quacking LOL.

I set a couple of pullet eggs from my big Hansom BBS Marans and the 2 splash and 1 black pullets, the eggs are really small, just stuck them in on a whim. I have 3 Blue (I think) babies, they don't seem to have any white. Very active little buggers, and so cute. They are hanging out with an RG poult from one of the trash eggs and 4 Cubalayas I got from a local. The Cubalayas are tiny too but LOUD. I called the guy cause I was concerned there was something wrong, he said they are all like that, very vocal (This may have been a mistake

)
I have a batch from Donna in lockdown and some JG due next week, a couple of RG turkey eggs with undetermined date but not too far out. Then I guess I'm thru for awhile. Wow that will be strange, tho I can't complain. I have so many in Juvie pens and I need to weed out the extra roos before winter.
DH has been after me to sell some of the guineas, there are probably 30 or so between the free ranging w/ broodys and the juvie pens, BUT I Don't Want Tooo

have to pick some I guess. Can't keep them all, now can I.

What color Guineas do you have & can you ship birds/eggs...

All my Guineas are this years, only one older from last year hen who lays infertile eggs. Next year we will have quite a few, I suppose. I got most of mine from MrHienzean corancher on here.Getting late in the season for them tho, so you better hurry.

This reminds me. I hafta talk to my kids' teachers this week to see if they wanna hatch in the classrooms this year. I think I can loan out at least 2 of my bators at a time thru about Christmas break. Then I will have them back in time to stuff them for spring hatching season

haa haa yep My Hubby is the worst / best enabler ever!!! I haven't had my bator off for more than a few days since I made it this spring!! EE eggs in now and think I will set another batch when these are done to be sure I get enough hens. I found my Ball python loves to eat chicks so I can get rid of the roo babies and weak ones if I can get good at feather sexing anyways. I have a hard time giving them to him but I would rather them have a reason for dieing than just culling them. And its way cheaper than buying him food.

This is actually a good way to dispose of excess roos. I sent a couple of mine to be snake food a week or so ago. I used to raise mice & rats to sell specifically for snake food, so I reali2e ALL animals hafta eat, even if we don't like the idea of WHAT they eat.
