My GNH are pipping

the exchequer crosses are too and the wheaten. This is going to be a SMALL hatch.... I think I only have a little over a doz egg in there..... maybe 14.

On a bright note I got 4 BLRW eggs and 1 SLW egg today they ALL laid! That was a first

If anyone can offer a suggestion for making Sexlinks of some kind for the spring let me know. I know I can use Barred hens to make sexlinks, but maybe I am missing something else.

This is what I have
Blue and Black Copper marans
BR's
EE
Leghorns (I don't think I can use them to make sexlinks)
Black Ams
Lav Ams
Wheatens
New Hampshires
Cuckoo Marans
Blue Rocks

I also have a STRAY straight combe BLRW pullet.... could I use her with anything to make sexlinks?

I was thinking of using my Barred EE to make sexlink EE
BR with the NH to make sexlinks
and the Cuckoos with the Marans to make sexlinks

I don't think I will use my SLW and BLRW this year for sexlinks.

That's my point, pullets are easy to rehome, it's the boys that usually pose the challenge!

I have BUFF ORP eggs coming... they were free.... I was not going to keep them. Was going to sell them in the spring. But can they be used?

A Partridge rock and a SLW will make sexlinks too

AND I have the White Wyandottes coming too they make sexlinks too

if they are silver.

Your new Hampshires wold work fine over a br hens, and the cockerels would be good for butcher roosters. I am sure your roo guy would appreciate that.

Buff orps over barred rocks make a great sex link. That's what I am going to use for mine until my RIR cockerels are ready.
